Atlas provides default alert conditions to assist you with monitoring your Atlas clusters. You can configure your own alert conditions, if desired.
An alert is triggered when the threshold for the condition is reached causing a warning symbol to be displayed on the cluster and an alert notification to be sent, continuing at regular intervals until the condition resolves or you delete or disable the alert.
Some Atlas alerts you may encounter and the possible alert resolutions for them are:
Connection Alerts issued when the number of connections to a MongoDB process exceeds the allowable maximum...see the immediate resolutions and long term resolutions.
Disk I/O % Utilization Alerts issued when the percentage of disk IOPS utilized reaches a specified threshold...see the common triggers and possible solutions.
Disk Space % Used Alerts issued when the percentage of used disk space on a partition reaches a specified threshold...see common triggers and possible solutions.
Query Targeting Alerts indicating inefficient queries...see solution.
Replication Oplog Alerts issued when the amount of oplog data generated on a primary cluster member is larger than the cluster’s configured oplog size...see the common triggers and possible solutions.
System CPU Usage Alerts issued when CPU usage of the MongoDB process reaches a specified threshold...see the triggers and possible solutions.
By default, alert notifications are sent by email to the project owner of the project, however, when you configure an alert you can select how notifications are sent. You can select multiple notification methods such as email, text message, or team collaboration tools.
