In order to use an external service that is not implemented in Realm, the service must have a REST API. You can then configure a Realm HTTP Service. This is a generic interface that enables you to communicate with any service that is available over HTTP, such as a service with a REST API.

Procedure

  1. Create a Realm HTTP Service.

  2. Create a new function so that the custom service action can be called from a Realm function. For details, see Call a service action from another function. You can also follow the examples provided in the Realm documentation for http.post(), http.get(), and other required HTTP Actions.

  3. If you require bi-directional communication so that your service can communicate back to Realm, you can create an incoming webhook on the HTTP service.
